A Week of Photography 10: Abstract Visions in Decay
Exploring Hidden Patterns and Abstract Beauty: A Photographic Journey from Tarragona’s Amusement Park to Croatia’s Marija Bistrica
These photos tell a story about finding beauty and meaning in unexpected places. This week, I was in Tarragona, Spain, for a business conference. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to see even a “T” of Tarragona because we were literally stuck inside an amusement park—but without any amusement. The days were filled with long presentations and formal dinners, leaving me no time to explore the city.
Faced with this, I decided to search for inspiration in my immediate surroundings, focusing on abstract details. These photos capture fragments of those small moments of escape through my lens—textures, patterns, and colors that brought some relief to the monotony.
The rest of the series is completed with photos from Croatia, specifically from the Marian shrine in Marija Bistrica. There, I found similar abstract motives that complement the Spanish shots, creating a universal story about how beauty and creativity can be found anywhere, even when we’re limited by space or circumstances.
I hope you enjoy this series, celebrating textures, contrasts, and forms from two different yet connected worlds!

The first photo is awesome.
Loving this tactile, abstract series. Glad you didn’t have to venture far to capture some visions.
