A Week of Photography 13: My Best Shots
Exploring Zagreb's Hidden Gems: Torn Posters, Urban Textures, and Striking Red Tones in My Best Photography of the Week
This week, I decided to take a walk along Tratinska Street in Zagreb. At first glance, it seemed like just another ordinary street with worn-down buildings, typical of a working-class neighborhood. It didn’t look like there was much worth photographing. But in this dull and gray street, I found an unexpected photographic adventure.
I focused on torn posters, textures, and, most of all, red tones – elements that transformed this seemingly uninspiring street into a rich visual story. Layers of paper, the marks of time, and abstract details became the heart of my series. Each photograph captures hidden beauty and layers of the city that are all around us, though we often fail to notice them.
This series reaffirmed a lesson I’ve learned before: never judge things at first glance. Those who take the time to look beyond the obvious can find beauty and inspiration in the most unexpected places. And you don’t have to be a photographer to do this – you just need to be a passerby willing to look up from the ground and beyond your own thoughts.
Thank you for visiting. Enjoy the photos;)
All photos were taken with the Fujifilm X-E4 paired with a 27mm f/2.8 lens.
