A Week of Photography 23: My Best Shots from the Rising
Capturing peaceful sunrise moments in Nature with Fujifilm gear
This week, a thought stayed with me:
I wanted to have something at home that would inspire me – something that would fill me with peace and a sense of positivity.
So, I decided to take photos of nature – but not just any kind, anywhere or anytime. I wanted to capture scenes by the water, where delicate plants highlight the fragility of life and the moment. And at the same time, they remind us that such moments are eternal and incredibly beautiful.
In search of a place like that, I went to the Savica lakes – just a 20-minute drive from Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, where I live.
To capture nature in its most beautiful light, I knew I had to be there early – at dawn, when the first warm rays of sunlight take over the lakes and meadows from the fading darkness.
So, I did something I almost never willingly do – I woke up at 5:30 in the morning.
I got up, got ready, and brought with me the Fujifilm X-H2 with a 70–300mm f/4.0–5.6 lens, and the Fujifilm X-E4 with a 16–80mm f/4 lens.
Now, I finally have something I can look at with a calm smile – something that brings a beautiful, warm feeling inside me. A feeling of peace and deep gratitude that I get to witness moments like these.
Thank you for sharing the moment of witnessing this beauty with me.
