You Don’t Need a New Camera: Your Smartphone is More Than Enough
A selection of my best photos captured on an iPhone.
Many of us, when trying something new, believe that fast progress and skill-building require investing in new, expensive gear. I felt the same way and wanted to buy a new camera, even before I’d fully committed to photography. But thanks to my mentor’s advice, I held off on new equipment and kept shooting with my iPhone until I knew photography would be a lifelong passion.
Only then did I choose a new camera, which, while an upgrade from my iPhone, isn’t essential for capturing great photos. Here, I’m sharing some of my favorite photos, taken with my iPhone and edited using Snapseed, a free photo-editing app.
All photos captured by Davor Katusic using an iPhone 8 and 11.
Wow. I will have to check out Snapseed. I only use my iphone. I think it is a 12?
Thanks David. Do you ever use a zoom?
